My final photograph from Clifton Hall is of one of the lions that guards the pathway to the rear of the house. You would have seen a photo of them on the estate agents' website. But they just showed their rears & not their faces. So here's what they look like. Not sure why they are asleep. Maybe they are like Bagpuss and only wake up when something exciting happens!
A photo a day from the famous East Midlands city, its surroundings, and wherever the photographic journey takes me.

Things That Go Bump In The Night - Epilogue

Many thanks GM, I have loved the photo's and story of Clifton Hall. I cannot help but feel sad at what will be the demise of the beautiful old hall. I wish the National Trust could come onboard but I'm sure they are overwhelmed with so many deserving projects. I loved the sleeping lion but felt sorry he is no longer in his glory. Obviously new houses have been built very close by. That's progress for you. Have a good weekend. Linda

Silly old Bagpuss, but Emily wouldn't have him any other way. Reminds me of Lenny the lion, so camp and cute.
