Sign of the Times
Here is another old factory that has been put to a new use. It was used for lace dyeing and belonged to Hicking Pentecost, but now it has been turned into an adult restaurant called Hooters. During the 1980's, I used to work in the building next door. It was empty for a few years, but has now been turned into luxury flats. A recent survey by our local paper, has found out that there are in the region of 600 empty flats in the city centre. But they keep building more. Why?

Interesting an ADULT RESTAURANT! Did you pay it a visit?
ReplyDeleteWhat a hoot! The restaurant (if it's the same kind) created quite a stir in the Twin Cities a number of years back, but now it's just a big yawn. If you like scantily clad, well-endowed females, it's the place for you! The kind of waitress that would make any parent proud!
ReplyDeleteI like these old houses.
ReplyDeleteBad city planning. Not easy to adjust though, by the time you recognise a need it takes several years to build the required housing and by the time you realise it's enough it takes several years to stop. The building is beautiful.
