Sunday Fun
Hope you don't mind a bit of nudity for a Sunday?
Don't worry, no need to complain, as this particular nude is made of stone.
I bumped into her at Bardill's Garden Centre, where she was on sale for £345. Hasten to add, I didn't buy her, just took her portrait instead.

Snow Joke
Although it has been cold and grey, a trip to the local garden centre called Bardills was called for, as Gail wanted to buy a Christmas tree with roots for the garden.
The first thing that we did whilst there was to have some lunch in their cafe. It was busy, but we found somewhere to sit and ate our meal.
We then had a walk around and looked at the various rooted trees that they had for sale. After examining a number of trees, we elected and paid for one. We then took it to the car and loaded it in. The tree fitted ok, as it is only about three feet tall. While we were paying for it, one of the assistants had popped it a black bin liner, so that it would get damaged or damage anything.
We then had a look inside. And yes, Christmas had arrived, with Santa's dotted everywhere, an animated reindeer and a display of polar bears and eskimos. I've never seen eskimo figures before, and I thought that this little fellow whose just about to throw a snowball cute and amusing.

A Touch Of Pink
A quiet Monday, so here's a shot of one of the flowers that I photographed at the garden centre yesterday. A lovely little pink flower, that sadly I don't know the name of either.

Post Man
We went looking for plants this afternoon at a local garden centre called Bardills, as Gail wants me to update the garden a bit, as it looking a little tired in some places where plants have either died or its looking a little bare.
Of course I took my camera with me to take any pictures of scenes that I come across, like this unusual blue flower, that I didn't note the name of. We had lunch there to start with, before looking around the vast site and at all the different plants for sale.
I just had to take a photo of this 'person' made from wood and resting on a fence. His flowerpot hat just adds to the sense of fun of the character, and would look at home in the right garden. I was tempted to buy it, but resisted. Still we did spend a lot of money on various plants, including lavender, some herbs and a small magnolia tree.

Paws For Thought
I also came across this message at the garden centre, that spoke to me, as an owner of two cats.
I would say that both our lives have changed since Marmalade and Oscar joined our household some years ago. They have certainly left their mark on our hearts, and wallets, as they only seem to eat expensive cat food!

Spring Is Almost Here
We popped over to a local garden centre near West Bridgford this afternoon, to look at plants, as Gail was especially keen on getting some rhubarb plants for presents for some friends of ours.
It's a very big garden centre and they sell practically everything to do with a person's outside space. Looking around, I noticed a trolley full of resin birds and animals.
There were dogs, cats, pigs, chickens and this very cute spring lamb. A shame that he is made of hard plastic, rather than soft wool, as he would be really cuddly to touch.

Here Be Dragons
A quick trip up to the garden centre today to try and get some solution to a weed problem that we have in our pond. A little green weed is slowly covering the top of the pond. And the more that I fish it out, the more it seems to grow. So we wondered whether they would have a special weedkiller that I could use to get rid of it.
I explained the problem to the assistant in their aquatic centre, who said that it was duckweed, and pointed me in the direction of a liquid that should get rid of the problem. He said that the weed is usually introduced into the water by frogs, of which we have had loads this year.
So we bought the bottle and then had a look round the plants, pots and garden ornaments. I was quite taken with this dragon, with his big eyes and infectious grin. I didn't buy him though, as he might have scared Oscar and Marmalade!
