Bee Bookaloola

The Beeman is feeling intellectual today, despite it constantly raining.

Sadly he hasn't been given an umbrella, so he has to read his book in the wet.

Hopefully the rain won't wash away the words of his novel, and he can still read. I just hope it isn't a library book!

I wonder what the title is?  With all the bad weather that we are currently experiencing, then it may be 'Ring of Bright Water', 'The Little Mermaid' or 'Moby Dick'.

The Reading Room

It was a lovely sunny day yesterday, which for early October must be a bit of a record breaker.

After we had been to see Tracey's exhibition, we sat out and had some lunch at the romantically named Mud Crab Diner in the town centre.

Before we left the library, I took this shot of an area that had been laid out like a reading room that you would have at home, with some comfy chairs, a good selection of books and some sun streaming through a big picture window. All that is missing is a glass of whiskey.

Bookworm

Today is World Book Day. A global celebration of literature and reading.

As I am not reading a book or novel at the moment; it's script learning time again, I'm showing the cover of a novel that I used to love as a child. Probably everybody since the 1950s I think has read one of the Moomin books.

If you're one of the few that haven't, the Moomin's could be vaguely described as white hippopotamuses.  They were the creation of Finnish author and illustrator Tove Jansson. The hero is called Moomintroll and he has a best friend called Sniff.

They had many adventures and met a lot of strange creatures. To give you an idea of what some of the characters look like, here's a clip from YOU TUBE, of an animated series from the 1970s, that I used to watch.

Here Is The News

Here's our little Marmalade trying to read a newspaper. I don't think he was doing very well. Not because he can't actually read, but he's trying to read it upside-down.

One Man And His Paper

The German market has returned to Nottingham for a few weeks. I of course had a wander around looking for that exciting shot. Unfortunately I didn't see anything worth taking of the stalls themselves, but I spotted this stallholder, who was more interested in reading his paper, than trying to sell anything.
