A photo a day from the famous East Midlands city, its surroundings, and wherever the photographic journey takes me.

Mellow Yellow
A close up of the sunflower that we have growing in the garden, that I took with one of the art filters on my Olympus EM-1, just to give it a bit of an unusual look. Maybe so it looked like another plant altogether.
Hopefully there will be quite a lot of sunflower seeds to be collected and possibly eaten when its time to harvest them in a couple of months time.

Heads Up
A lot of the poppies have now lost their colourful petals and the heads are slowly drying off in the summer sun, ready for the seeds to burst forth, to produce new plants next year.
I of course will be gathering up a lot of the heads and storing them, so that I can scatter them in other parts of the garden next year.

Making Hay While The Sun Shines
For some reason; probably a bird dropped a seed, we have a big grass plant growing in the garden.
It's quite tall and has these ears of seeds sprouting everywhere.
Not a brilliant photograph by any stretch. I've not quite mastered this macro or close-up photography yet. But at least I keep trying.
