Bookworm

When I was taking photos of the parade on Monday, I bumped into a fellow photographer that I know and who is a regular visitor to these shores. We had a chat while I was taking some pictures. I had not seen her or her husband for a while now.

I noticed that she had this rather interesting bag round her shoulder, so of course I just had to take a photo of it.

I will have to ask the next time I see her whether she is rather partial to reading.

If you didn't know (I didn't) the quote comes from one of Alcott's novels called Work, which was published in 1873.

Blast From The Past

Walking through town at lunchtime, I was surprised, and pleased to see the old BOAC name and logo on this guy's bag.  What spoilt it for me though, was the fact that the bag was red, whereas it should have been dark blue.

For those of you who don't know BOAC (British Overseas Airways Corporation) was a British airline in the 1960s. It used to fly VC10s and the very first Concorde sported the airlines colours. They merged with BEA (British European Airways)  in the early 1970s and became British Airways. Which according to advertisers is the world's favourite airline.

If you are interested in the airline's history, here's a useful WEBLINK.

Bringing Home The Bacon

Do you like cooking?  I do, and Gail thinks that I'm reasonable at it. No Gordon Ramsey, but ~I've never given her food poisoning yet!

My cookbook might be a bit thin, but I always try to do the best I can, with what I know how to make.

I wonder if this shopper has got their ingredients ready to for the evenings' meal? I wonder what they have in the bag. Some fish perhaps, with a small bag of new potatoes, beans, fresh sprig of parsley and a Key lime pie for pudding.

Whatever it is, I hope they cooked it well and everyone enjoyed it.
