Let Me Eat Cake
I went food shopping tonight, as I usually do after work, as I am not one of these people that do a big weekly shop on a Friday night or Saturday morning, filling a trolley and queuing up for twenty minutes to pay.
Besides, doing a little bit every night, I enjoying seeing what I can find in the markdown aisles. Take tonight for example, I picked up this Avengers cake for the knockdown price of £2; originally it was on sale for £9. It's a big one too, so will last a few days.
It can be a real adventure, seeing what's on offer in the chiller, vegetables and bakery departments. It can also help me decide what we are going to have for dinner, as sometimes I am stuck for an idea. Tonight though we ordered pizza from Papa Johns.

A Sweet Way To Learn The Alphabet
Sugar letters, a bit more tasty than Alphabetti Spaghetti, and easier to spell with, as they are not covered in tomato sauce.
Just found them today in a local supermarket, and thought they would make for an interesting photo for today.

Patience
Coming out of Sainsbury's supermarket tonight I heard this dog barking that was tied up near my bike. So after loading my saddle bags with the groceries that I'd bought, I started to talk to him, to try and stop his barking, as I don't think its ever good for a dog to bark too much, unless its a warning or something.
He was obviously missing his master or mistress, who had gone shopping too. After a little while, he calmed down a bit and I then got out my camera, as I thought he might make for a cute pooch portrait.
He was a bit unsure at first as to what my OMD might be, as he might not have seen a camera before. He cowered a little bit and started to bark again but soon got over his apprehension, and then quietly sat down while I got a few shots.

Badgering People
There was a demonstration outside one of the many Tesco stores in the city centre at lunchtime today.
The demonstration concerned the scheduled badger cull that the Government has recently announced to ward off a possible TB epidemic amongst cattle. Although there is no scientific proof that this is the best way of controlling the disease.
There is a suggestion that it is better to actually cure the badgers, rather than killing them. The protestors were also getting passers by to sign a petition to stop the cull. I of course happily signed it, as I am an animal lover and do not believe it is the way to go either.

Meals On Wheels

There was an unusual vehicle parked in our local Lidl supermarket today, Lidl's own double decker bus. It's not been built for passengers, but to promote the supermarkets own brand foods.
As I had been rehearsing this morning, I was quite hungry at lunchtime, so I climbed aboard to see what was on offer. The buffet was upstairs, and I had some hand cooked crisps, some Greek yoghurt and muesli, a piece of delicious chocolate cake, and some wonderful caramel wafers. So tasty, that I had to go in an buy a packet. Gail tried one and also thought they were yummy. So much so that she had another one, only this time she covered it in Philadelphia chocolate cheese spread.
