A photo a day from the famous East Midlands city, its surroundings, and wherever the photographic journey takes me.

In a Quiet Country Churchyard
Being in the churchyard of Southwell Minster, I hope this old chap is just snoozing in the sunshine, rather than awaiting his maker!
It was so quiet, even though there is quite a busy road a few yards away. It was that quiet, that I didn't even hear a bird tweet.
I trust he enjoyed his nap and didn't get sunburnt. Maybe he then wandered off to one of the local pubs for a well earned pint.

Fade Away And Radiate
Here's one of those arty shots that I take every now and then.
As you might have worked out, it is the peeling paint on one of the park benches in Highfields.
It looks like it is high time it was cleaned up and repainted.

The Sun Has Got His Wooly Hat On
Well, what do you know, the sun came out today. It was still 0 degrees C though. It was certainly nice to see, even though it wasn't doing anything to melt the snow on the ground.
So I took a trundle through Highfields for a change, as the snow along University Boulevard has become quite bad to cycle through. I try to stay within the rut created by other cyclists, but it's not always possible. Especially with the construction works that are going on at the moment.
Couple of arty shots here. I did take a couple of photos of the Trent Building, but thought you might like to see these trees and this park bench with the icicles twinkling between the two planks of wood.

Misty Moments
I think everyone, including the weather people were a bit surprised to wake up and finding Nottingham covered by a misty shroud.
Apparently visibility was quite poor at first light, but it had eased a bit when I cycled off to work. Still the fog made a trip through Highfields worthwhile. A shame that it wasn't the 'pea-souper' like England used to get in the 1950s, but it was worth stopping off and trying to get a few shots.
Above you can see the boating lake and can just about make out the clock tower of the Trent building. While below is a low shot of the fallen leaves and some of the railing that surrounds the lake. Shame that all the ducks had hidden themselves away, as one would have added a little extra interest to the picture.
