A photo a day from the famous East Midlands city, its surroundings, and wherever the photographic journey takes me.

The Night Closes In
I was out and about today, but didn't come across anything worth taking a photo of.
But on the way home, I cycle over a small bridge which spans the canal, and I just happen to notice that some sunset coloured clouds were being reflected in the water. So that's my photo of the day.
There won't be much more early evening photography, with the clocks going back at the end of the month by an hour, so it's dark at 4pm. I'm dreading those long dark nights which last until next March.
Wish I could hibernate!

A Dusting Of The White Stuff
The weather people have been informing us for a couple of weeks now that snow was on its way. But none had appeared. Possibly because it has been too warm, despite that it is supposed to be January.
But tonight it has finally happened. Only a slight dusting at the moment, but who knows what it is going to be like by the morning. Snowman building perhaps?

Ice, Ice Baby
I am presently going through all my photos on iPhoto and deleting lots, as it's something I should have done ages ago.
I took this photo more or less a year ago. What a difference to today, with icy winds and snow showers. There's certainly no blossom on the trees in Highfields at the moment, and with the bad weather that's expected over the next few days, they are unlikely to sprout the little white flowers for a while.
It's the new born lambs and Easter chicks that I feel sorry for, as it's going to be very difficult for them. I know the farmers will do their best, but of course they will be struggling too with the poor weather conditions.
Who knows how long this spell is going last, but I don't know about you, but I'm a bit fed up with it now, as winter seems to have lasted forever.

Who's Who?
Hello, what's going on here then?
Seems like Colin Baker's Doctor isn't too happy about being turned into a Gallifreyian snowball.
Matt Smith's and Sylvester McCoy's Doctors are certainly up to mischief with their former self. No doubt William Hartnell's version of the time lord will have something to say!
