Something About To Disappear
Today is theme day in the world of the daily photo blogger, and as the title suggests, this month's theme is something that is about to be lost forever. My contribution is this house in the Park, which is about to be knocked down and replaced with even more luxury flats. Personally I couldn't live in a flat, as I enjoy having a garden and not having to put up with noisy and nosey neighbours.
Around 50 bloggers are participating, with the links below. Don't forget the time differences across the world.

Yes, looks like it's the same story everywhere.
ReplyDeleteI agree, and what a shame it is. Keep the house!!!
ReplyDeleteif you can't afford to buy a house buy a flat, this one is derelict anyway and should go either way, look on the bright side of life =)
ReplyDeletejazzy... these flats are not likely to be affordable! ("luxury" normally means overpriced)
ReplyDeleteAh, another demolition on the bloggers theme day. Sad, in a way!
ReplyDeletesome flats deserved to be torn down. but not sure about this one though. is it still good inside? or has termites etc infested it?
ReplyDeleteAh, progress! Here in Seattle there is so much of this going on it's hard to keep track of. I'm wondering who ARE all these people moving into new condos and flats? Aren't there too many of these already? There must be customers, or they wouldn't keep building them. . .
ReplyDeleteI see like me you got your list from Ham of today's bloggers before 11 more latecomers signed on. I went back and reposted with the revised list when I started going to every site and saw lots more cities listed. There are now 56.

You were much truer to the theme than I was in mine ... We recently moved from 3,000 square feet to 1,000 square feet of living. Which includes noisy and nosey neighbors. However, the move has turned out to be the best of our lifetime.
ReplyDeleteDerelict in some eyes is historic and ready to restore in other eyes. Of course, it's not clear what the neighborhood is like around this old house.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could afford to say "I cannot live in a flat" in Paris. But, well, that would cost me something like 1,5 million €!
ReplyDeleteMy grandma built a patio out of bricks that she found here and there, so looking at this house that is about to be torn down, I hope that some of those bricks go onto a better life.
