November Theme Day - Mr Blue Sky

The title of a smash hit for the 1970's rock band ELO, introduces today's theme of the colour blue. I'm afraid I haven't been very creative this month, but as the sky recently has been very bright, with no clouds (unusual for England), I thought I'd show you this rare occurrence, as I know a lot of you always see clear blue skies every day.

Yes this is genuine sky & not a piece of coloured card!

Once again I couldn't find the list of all the other countries that are participating & due to time differences, some countries may not appear yet.

  3. My skies can look like this every day (except when a tropical storm is off the coast!), and I know yours do not. So--nice catch!

  5. Like Sally, I laughed. Well why not give us blue sky when we all tried not to?! Although I did too, with a little added. And yes, I remember ELO. Great!

  8. Reminds me of a line in a song that goes something like "blue sky smiling at me, nothing but blue sky do I see..". Bet this is a welcome sight to areas where gray skys and drizzle are the norm.

  10. That reminds me of a painting we have at the Met here. Blue on canvas. Very soothing and meditative. I was talking with one of the curator the other day asking him what was the interest of the painting. And here's what it told me: whenever I am stressed out, I come in front of this painting and stare at it. It calms me down: there is absolutely nothing to disturb me in it. It's like a yoga session. I must say I look at it with different eyes now. You can see it here.

  12. "Sun is shining in the sky, there ain't a cloud in sight, it stopped raining, everybody's in the play and don't you know, it's a beautiful new day, ayayay..."
Oh, thanks alot. I just started to forget Queen's "bicycle" from another post, and now this. And that was all from memory. This is definitely going to stay with me all day.
