This sculpture is known locally as the Onion, and is on Albert Street, which runs down to Wheeler Gate. It is a water feature, but it was switched off a few years ago for health reasons. So now it is where people sit to eat their sandwiches, read or just watch the world go by.
A photo a day from the famous East Midlands city, its surroundings, and wherever the photographic journey takes me.

Nice photograph of a special fountain no longer used. Amazing. I wonder what the health reasons were? Maybe people were peeing in the fountain and others were drinking the water? Wow. Maybe.
ReplyDeleteNo, the health reasons were all about slipping on the ice.
ReplyDeleteNow people can happily crack their skulls open on the concrete Market Square, at a cost of £7,000,000.
