Pigeon Post

My small salute to Abraham Lincoln's Brookville DP wonderful site, where most days he posts a photo of an animal or bird that visits his garden. Alas my small British garden doesn't run to raccoons, exotic birds or rabbits. This pigeon seemed quite happy to have his photo taken, and didn't blink an eye, as I edged closer and closer.

I really like your pigeon photograph. It seems to be an "old bird" something like me. Your bird is a little "hump" backed (fortunately I don't have one yet, and I don't think I will get one at my age). He is also plump and that must mean he is getting plenty to eat. Finally, an observation is worth detailing. Notice he is perched in the right position to miss your bench if he decided it was time to go.

Nice post. Thanks for mentioning my name. You are generous with the comments. I also appreciate your visits and hope you enjoyed seeing me as Moses.

  2. Took a photo of one pecking at our bird-feeder yesterday, even when it was absolutely teeming down with rain! Still in camera yet though as I'm busy working through yesterday's reds!

  3. Nice capture. You can even see the details in his feet.

I admire Abe's patience when photographing wildlife ... I espcially enjoyed his baby robin series.

  6. le portrait est très beau ( mais je n'aime pas les pigeons, ils envahissent la ville d'Evry, et c'est une vraie plaie ;o) ).

the portrait is very beautiful (but I do not love the pigeons, they invade the town of Evry, and it is a true wound ;O)).

  7. Nice photo. The way the bird's neck is positioned it almost looks like a statue.

Thanks for visiting my North Bay Blog. (as for knock over the display of Coco-Cola, the manager may be angry and might have turned "red" for me to take his picture, but then I wouldn't be able to go back and get my Canadian Tire any more!)
