No Smoking
Today is the last day in England where you can smoke in enclosed public places, such as restaurants, pubs, buses etc, because as from midnight it will be illegal.
As a non smoker myself, I will be quite happy, as there is nothing worse than going for a drink and coming out smelling like an ashtray.
To promote the new law, yesterday this guy was dressed up as a cigarette and handing out nicotine patches, to help people give up. These two girls seemed to be enjoying the moment.

Here nobody would think possible to forbid to smoke into pubs, bar and restaurant. Well, strange but true defense to smoke it's actually the most loved prohibition by everyone :-)
ReplyDeleteWe had the same policy instituted a couple years ago. Pub and restaurant businesses were afraid of losing customers but so far, nothing has changed.
ReplyDeleteLike you, I'm a non-smoker and am glad I don't have to smell like a chimney after eating out.
