Hotel Hell
Here's Nottingham's latest hotel. And isn't awful? I have no idea why they've made the top look like a Portakabin. It's certainly not in keeping with the rest of the area, which borders the Lace Market. It's another example of bad, sloppy architecture. See Jackie's Glasgow page, for an example of what architecture could and should be like.

I'm afraid I also agree with you on this one. Ugly as hell. Though the bottom half isn't too bad.
ReplyDeleteSorry for not visiting your site for such a long time but here at TORUŃ DP we have been very busy! Doesn't mean we have forgotten about your site though!
I am not a fan of Hotel Ibis! The last time I used one was so awful I wanted to burn the hotel down. Why do cheap hotels have to be so ugly?
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting Norwich Daily Photo and leaving your footprints behind. Sorry for not dropping by sooner. I was on a course the whole weekend. Do visit again. Have a great start to your week!

aaagggh! that is awful!!! why do they do that to us!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat is not a nice looking building, it looks like the top part could blow off in a strong wind!
ReplyDeleteYou're right it's horrible! It looks like an oversized computer box. What were they thinking?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link to my blog!
Well I hate to disagree with everyone (well no, actually I don't), but I rather like the building.
ReplyDeleteI'm not entirely sure it's an appropriate place for that design, but the design is good. As long as they keep the paint clean.
Very good post, also and blog marvellous.
ReplyDeleteMy first glimpse of it I thought there was a giant TV camera or monitor at the top! Nope, not my kind of building at all!

I dont like it either. Sometimes I see semi detached homes built side by side, one a one storey and the other three storey, it really is an eye sore.
ReplyDeleteOut of place. Weird. Not a pretty sight.
ReplyDeleteA complete dog's dinner in architecture. What a mess!
ReplyDeleteWhen will it be finished?
ugly, but is it comfortable inside? :-)
ReplyDeletei stayed in ibis before, they are not too shabby.
just shocking. And beside a lovely victorian building I see. A disgrace!
