Water, Water Everywhere

I have just come back from an overnight visit to Ross on Wye in Herefordshire. The drive down was really awful, as it rained all the way there & the spray from the motorway meant that I was driving through a car wash. Fortunately it had stopped by the time I arrived at the little tourist town. I had a wander around taking photos of anything & everything. I took a walk to the River Wye, and as you can see it is flooding the immediate area. Lynn from Cheltenham DP has been detailing what effects the flooding is having on the nearby county of Gloucestershire.

  1. Simply amazing to see all this flooding. I've sat and had such lovely picnic lunches on the bank of the Wye in Ross on Wye in years gone past.

  2. Good pic, Gail's Man. I thought Ross would be flooding there by the river. It's a beautiful place normally. We need to let people know too that we don't always flood lol though that's very much what we're covering at the moment! I'm going to show, when the waters go down, how beautiful Tewkesbury really is and what it has to offer as we really need those tourists back! Same for Ross, it's really gorgeous there - the flooding is only temporary. An ex boyfriend of mine used to gig at Ross, one of the pubs down by the river, like a mini-festival. Good fun. Come to Ross, everyone; i recommend it!

  5. We're lucky over here. Norfolk is the driest part of the country.
