Food To Go

Our local market has just held an event to promote buying locally grown & produced food, rather than getting it from supermarkets where its imported from all over the world. This chef was giving a demonstration of how to cook a dish called kedgeree; which is basically boiled fish & rice. It didn't take very long to prepare. He and his assistant then dished up the food into little pots for people to try. It was very tasty. So good, I just had to have seconds!

  4. Good idea to promote locally grown produce. It always strikes me as nuts that we eat apples from the other side of the world - or whatever...

Love kedgeree. I seem to remember it's made of smoked haddock - now that brings back my childhood. Smoked haddock with a poached egg on top. Hated it as a kid. Love it now.
