Old Soldiers Never Die
Although I've had a bit of fun with the pictures that I took at the recent Veterans Weekend, there was a serious message to the show, about reminding visitors over the sacrifice people made in the areas of war in the past and that we shouldn't forget them. And so my final photo is of one of these old fighters proudly displaying his medals gained in some conflict in the past.

This made me stop and think. Everyhting about this is fabulous, her look, his pride, monochrome with the emphasise of colour on the medals.
ReplyDeleteA perfect end photo to this event.
I wish I had knowledge of medals and what they stand for in different armed forces around the world. He wears his proudly and I hope just as proud are those whose only medal are for Good Conduct or something like my Korean Service Medal. It makes a different to us that people recognize our service no matter where we might live.
ReplyDeleteIt is a remarkably nice photo, played with or not but it sure put the emphasis where it belonged.
Abraham Lincoln
Brookville, Ohio happened naturally.
Well edited. I love how you've highlighted the medals. I wonder where we would be now if it weren't for brave men like this chap.
