Long Way From Home

Nottingham is about 70 miles from the nearest seaside town, so somehow this seagull has got a bit lost. Still he seems to be enjoying himself paddling about in the water feature down in the Old Market Square.

  1. we always reckon when the seagulls are seen around here it must be bad weather in Blackpool.

  2. Seagulls are so compliant and easy to photograph they normally don't count! In this case you get points for scarcity!

  3. You found yourself a fabulous shot, there, Mister Gail's Man. Love the reflection, the lines of the windows and of course the bird. Beautiful in colours. Superb.

  5. I can't say enough how much I love this photograph. It is a very clever photo and a great reflective shot of a favorite subject of mine, when I can take photos of them that is. We live too far from from the ocean for it to be anything other than a rare occasion so whenever I see one of our feathered friends such as this, I just smile.

  6. Obviously not a geography student then. Have to say this is remarkable. I would have been proud to have taken this.

  9. A beautifully 'reflective' shot. Gulls are often found far inland, anywhere there is water and a rich food source.
