Old Crock

Here's a very, very old car. An American Stanley steam car from 1910. Amazing to see it at a little vintage car show in Beeston. It was getting quite an audience, as some people couldn't believe that cars used to have motors like railway engines. Only the car ran on kerosene, rather than coal.
This old boy is taking a keen interest in the vehicle. Perhaps he can remember seeing something similar when he was a lad.

  1. I wonder how long it took to clean those brasses they are certainly gleaming headlights. It looks a great car I'd love to actually see it in action.

  2. True. Perhaps he did see something similar back in the day. It's amazing how the owner of that old car managed to keep the vehicle in seemingly mint condition. It shows how much care and effort can lengthen the lifespan of a car...

  3. He probably missed the cars in his generation… It looks like the old man took a photo of the description written below the car. I think there are people like him who want to bring those days back…

  4. Maybe that car made him nostalgic. If I were in his shoes, I’d also take a pause in whatever I’m doing and reminisce on my younger years. That car also represents how revolutionary men are. Imagine, before, people used kerosene to fuel things up. Now we have diesel, gasoline, and sometimes even sunlight (solar energy) to run our cars. Innovation is truly moving rapidly these days. No wonder grandpa misses the cars of his era.

  5. I wish to see that car someday, and if that moment comes, I won’t hesitate to take a photo of me standing beside it. I also want to see this on the road, so that I could have an idea of how these cars normally run. Maria and Clint are right about that guy, and at that point, he probably feels like going back to the good old days where cars were fueled by kerosene.
