Banana Splits

Walking past the Council House on Friday, I was drawn to Bananaman and his friends highlighting the importance of shoppers in buying Fairtrade products. By doing this, farmers in faraway countries receive a decent amount of money for their efforts, rather than being exploited by the giant supermarket chains that dominate these days. There were a number of stalls inside, where you could taste food & drink and learn what you can do to make the lives of overseas producers better.

For more information, please visit Fairtrade's very informative website, to learn more about their work and the organisation's objectives.

We have a lot of local shops supporting them too this week. Maybe I will post a picture in my blog this week.
