A photo a day from the famous East Midlands city, its surroundings, and wherever the photographic journey takes me.

Blue On Silver
Here's a typical touristy type photo of Birmingham's Selfridge's building. One that everybody probably knows; even if you've never been to the West Midlands city. I'm still not sure as to whether I like it or not. It's certainly different and unique and has become part of the landscape for the past six years, but will people still view favorably in 50 years time?

I guess I'm one of the few who've never heard of it so I had to look it up. It's, well, interesting, to say the least.
ReplyDeletewhat's the function of this building?
ReplyDeleteI've seen pictures of this place and I think I'd have to see it in person to tell if I liked it or not. However there is no question that I like your photos, both yesterday's and today's.
ReplyDeleteI like it. Nice to see something a bit 'out there'!
ReplyDeleteLike Hilda, I didn't know this building either and so I absolutely love yesterday's photograph.
ReplyDeleteGail's Man, somewhere I have your email address but can't find it. Please would you email me as I need to send you a photo of a car and you can tell me what it is! My email is on the blog. Thanks a lot.
To me this is the Birmingham post Babooshka.'Tis the place of my birth, my first nightclub, pub, hangover, kiss, concert(madness 50p Odeon) oh the memories. It always freaks me out when I see it in person. I'm a Rotunda girl, but this image is a corker.
ReplyDeletethis is the exterior of the shopping mall. Personally i am not a big fan of them and prefer old fashioned open markets. There is a great one down below this building.
