Guard Of Honour


Here's the memorial I was telling you about yesterday. Quite a simple design. If you blow the photo up, you'll be able to read the inscription. On the other side, a plaque lists how many were injured, killed or lost in action during the D-Day landings and subsequent battles. In total 2144 men were involved.

    I thought it was odd, for such a meaningful and poignant memorial, that there weren't any actual US soldiers there (or even politicians)... only re-enacters.
