A photo a day from the famous East Midlands city, its surroundings, and wherever the photographic journey takes me.

Horse Guards' Parade
Another Wednesday, Another Headbanger Challenge. This week the theme is 'Home is Where the Heart is'. My suggestion is Sydney Harbour. Naturally I love my Gail, and my heart is always with her heart, but we both love Sydney and we would immigrate there tomorrow if we had the chance. Alas we are too old for them and wouldn't have enough points for the authorities to let us in. So we can just dream and try and save up enough money to have a holiday there again.
Today's main picture is of another re-enactment group. This one specialises in pretending to be the 16th Lancers. Some others in the group dressed up as Queen Victoria and her 'servant' John Brown.

Hi GM, I thought your heart was in Dubai??lol.
ReplyDeleteGrand shot of Sydney tho.
GM: My that is certainly a surprise. I thought your photo of your town was really different.
ReplyDeleteLove watching this sort of thing especially when beautiful horses are involved.
ReplyDeleteThis must be something special to see. I can try to imagine what it is like. Over here, from time to time, they will have a native American performance where real Native Americans ride their horses into the area and out again and all painted as they were. I have read many accounts of settlers being picked up, killed, scalped, and so on. Some experiences are hard to believe let alone try to imagine how people existed then.
