Back To The Green

Continuing on from yesterday's theme, here's a photograph of what the Tales of Robin Hood looks like, nearly six months after it closed. As you can see some of the ceiling has fallen in, a window has been smashed and the frontage is generally looking quite shabby. So much so, that the city council has ordered the owners of the building to clean it up. This is quite ironic really, as it is the same council that refused to help the operators of the attraction who were struggling financially earlier this year.

Your street there looks like our little town main street with the street set in the sidewalk like you show. And our trees are about the same size. The buildings look similar with apartments above the stores.

  3. Oh, I remember this. When I used to live in Nottingham it was clean and nice. I actually didn´t know that it had to close. Oh, that´s a shame. I never been in there, but it always seemed to be a nice thing to represent Nottingham and the tales...

City Council's got a nice line in irony. Or do I mean hypocrisy?

  8. Wow. Tales of Robin Hood has closed? Shocking. I would have thought that couldn't fail to do well.

  9. Well you are preaching to the converted here about neglected high streets, and wasteful resources. I have a thing or thousand I'd like to say to them. How idiot can you get when there is a new Robin Hood film being made. Hello, literally the bigger picture out there to capitalize on.

My name is Babooshka and I have a problem ranting on ohter peoples blogs. I am seeking medical help for this with excursions to The South of France to calm dowm.

As you can see I am back and I have a whole heap of catching up to do. Pub not open yet is it?

  10. It's been my experience that most local city councils are comprised of people with little or no imagination or culture and way too much ego.
Sorry this is happening to you.

  11. As you know I am one of those who believes that RH never belonged to Nottingham anyway but whilst I'm laughing a bit inside about the irony of all this I'm still a little bit tearful about the local political thing which is no better in most of the UK.

Anyone know of any videos of it on the internet? The only one I can find on Youtube is of the closed exterior!
