The Big Question

I couldn't resist taking a snap of this poster on the wall of a local church. It wasn't so much the question, but the answer which some comic had scribbled underneath that caught my eye. Personally I would have written "Oh yes they can", as it is better English. I wonder if the vicar had to get permission from Google to reproduce their logo?

  2. Church signs are funny! Many of them make no sense at all. We saw one today that said: "'My way is the highway' - God." Huh?

I would guess the vicar figured he had God's blessing and wouldn't need Google's permission.

  4. I actually think the sign itself is much more clever than the grammatically incorrect scribble underneath. "Oh yes you can." Seriously, are we in Jr. High? Not to mention, implying that Google can answer every question except religious-based questions is pretty good free advertisement so I can't see them having a big problem with it.

  6. Ha ha I'm not a native English speaker but
    1. It looks funny to me
    2. If you made the "Oh Yes You Can" a little bigger it would look like a Google add

Great picture!!! Love how you enjoy you daily life

  7. A good example of the anti-scientific approach of the church. Evidence comes in the form of belief - very convenient.

And I have to say that the vicar doesn't want questions asked, period. Religious belief is about acceptance rather than enquiry.

    Very interesting photo.
